    Question that has been bothering me

    So I have been hearing different names for the "big" 2 stroke engine. Is it 947cc or 951cc? Fun fact: I use to rebuild them, and never knew!

    You can calculate it from the bore and stroke
    Bore = 88mm = 8.8cm
    Stroke = 78.2mm = 7.82cm

    Displacement = 3.14 x (Bore/2)^2 x Stroke x (Number of Cylinders)

    Displacement = 3.14 x (8.8/2)^2 x (7.82) x 2 = 951.24 cm^3

    Why we'll never know, but this wasn't actual displacement.

    The "7" as the last digit of the engine moniker indicated a Rotax Marine engine.
