Thread: Super-charger slip

Just wondering how i go about checking/setting the s/c slip on my p-x. Is there a general setting it should be or does it vary for riding conditions and different setups. Got my dealer to install my s/c impeller but am keen on learning how to do more of the spanner work myself

It can be checked in the ski by locking the cam shaft. Or sticking a broom stick in the impeller to prevent the motor from turning.

Check slipping moment counterclockwise by using
a torque wrench with actual torque viewer.
NOTE: Before checking the supercharger slipping
moment it is recommended to turn the clutch a full
revolution. This way the parts can mate together
and you will get a more accurate reading.
Supercharger should start to turn at a torque within
the specified values.
12-13 is lbs.
that is 144-156 lbs/in

If it tests too low, like 100 inch lbs or lower you can shim it with shims from Jerry's store and or replace some of the spring washers with spring washers from here...
Mix and match until you get it where you want it.
