    Smile 95 slt 750

Well guys after hit and miss with this ski I had a great un eventful afternoon on the river, What a blast! Since mechanically, all seemed good, I was able to pay attention to the ride and handling more.

Couple Q's for the slt riders:
    1) Do these skis all porpoise(sp) excessively when riding two up heavy or three up or is there something I need to change?

    2) The prop That was on the ski when I pulled it to put new pump bearings and seals was a 5131035. I also have a 5131079. Am I better off leaving it with the 1035 or will it help or hurt performance with the 1079?

And by the way, thanks for all the help getting this ski back on the river, I could not have done it without you guys.

I cannot comment on the porpoising issue as I've never rode a 3 seater.

But, the impeller fo an SLT 750 was always the 5131035.

The 5131079 was used on the SL 750 and the SLT 780. So it needs more HP or a lighter load to work properly.

I'd install the 1035 or get a Skat Trak 13/18 if possible.

Does your SLT750 have sponsons on the sides of the hull, near the back?

I can never remember which models came with sponsons stock

No K447 it doesn't have sponsons. I was intending to put some on a while back but the engine honked up again so I just parked it until recently.

Xlint, I was thinking that was the case with the props but wanted a second or third opinion, thanks for the input.

Sponsons should help stabilize the rear when carrying a lot of weight.

Does your machine have electric trim?

Trimming the nose down can also reduce porpoising, and it helps lift the rear.

I was thinking the sponsons would be more for handling. However, it makes sense that the ski rides great one up but if you add weight toward the rear and it rides deeper that is when the bucking starts. Sponsons would act like fixed trim tabs on a boat. Hmmmm why didn't I think of that?

No the boat doesn't have power trim.

I can't comment on adding sponsons on the 3 seaters, but they helped hugely on the sl hull I have with porpoising. Even with trim.
