    drive shaft

    has anyone out there removed a drive shaft from a rxtx without the drive shaft tool? Could this be done? Ihave to fix the tunnel due to a f-en hole in it. Spent so much $$ already on this ski wanna see if i really need to buy the tool..

    You dont need the tool, although it does make it much easier. You can do one of two things. You can muscle the collar and boot back and remove the c clip or you can rig something similar to the tool by putting something luke a small wood block off the back of the engine and then you something like a pry bar or even a tierod fork like I did. Worked perfectly. The collar may have slightly rusted itself to the shaft so you may have to work with it. Also just be carefull not to pull the bearing out of that rubber boot on the engine.     thanks guys for your imput. I tried the dealer and had no luck..they didnt like the stage 1 riva i had on it and dont really wanna waste the summer trying to get it done. I got a great6 fiberglass guy. Its the drive shaft thats got me a little nervous

    Get a dremel, push the carbon ring back and cut off the floating ring. That what I did with mine...

    +1, thats what I did, worked perfect. Tie-rod tool.
