How is yamaha fudging the horsepower ratings considering they don't advertise the actual horsepower?

maybe at the pump or however they classify it. Just like how the rxp-x is rated only at like 200 something rather than 255hp. Good thing to keep in mind when you get insurance. I honestly cant forsee a fzr only being at 210 and able to hang with the x boats. Especially when sea doo has had 215hp motors for over 5 years

Yamaha doesn't even advertise any horsepower figures for the FZR so how can they be 'fudging"??? Independent tests have found it to be in the 208 hp area. The reason it's so fast is Yamaha hulls are much more efficient than Sea-Doo hulls, always have been. How do you think GPR's were doing high 60's with only 160hp stock .

Im definitely not bashing as I think the fzr is a amazing machine. I was just trying to say that if those 210 numbers were in fact leaked or true it might be for insurance reasons or coast guard reasons. My ski is a 215hp ski when it was in its stock form but it certainly is not rated 215 for insurance purposes . I think it was classified as 184 or something. Like how the 255 rxp x is something like 200 or so at the pump.

Don't let horsepower numbers dazzle you. Speed not only comes from HP but also from efficiency of the hull and pump
