    pump wedge

What is the technical behind the pump wedge. Are my thoughts correct?

    1) lifts craft out of water for less resistance during top end speeds.
    2) compresses jet colum more to increase propulsion, by way of pointing the jet colum downward into the lake and not skipping off the surface.

I am assuming the wedge points the jet colum downward

It provides lift to get the bow up - just like triming an outboard or I/O up. That is, unless it's put on upside down - then the bow will plow... Ron

Yes, a couple of degrees. it makes a ski without VTS ride a littler higher in the bow. I don't see how it could make much difference on a ski that has VTS... Ron

Ive been running the 2.5 degree wedge for 4 years now, so handling I can't remember, but overall I like the wedge, but the VTS extension rod is a must if you run the wedge or you will lose whole shot. Also if you want better handling then drop the trim down a little and your good to go.
