    zx14 motor part compatability

Hey anyone who is looking for a quick upgrade for pistons should look into a zx14r piston its a 1mm overbore but they will fit directly into the stock connecting rod using the zx14 piston pin. i will post photos and the results of the pistons once i get the motor build complete.

i may be off base on this but the 15f has a longer stroke so wouldnt that change it?

    zx14r 61mm stroke
    stx 69mm stroke

    would that increase it?

ok my high compression is solved I found a .040 inch cylinder spacer for a zx12r that I am almost positive will fit the 15f

    http://www.lextreme.com/decompression.htm

here is a great link that shows how the compression numbers change with gasket thickness

so i decided to go with the .040 which should drop my compression to 10.4 to one putting me where i should be.

    zx12r base gasket is different
but riva sell a 40 thou spacer for the 15f
thats if they have any left
otherwise go to some one that has a water cutter and give them a standard gasket and they will cut you one

i would also check the comp ratio when you assemble the motor
a 30 thou change in deck hight normally does not make that much differnce

who are you getting to replate your cylinder

can you post up a pic with both pistons sitting side by side just sitting on there skirts
and a pic with them both pushed on to the same gudion pin

I dont know who will replate it yet i was hoping someone would chime in... the pistons for the zx dont use the 15f pins but the zx pins are the same diameter they are actually a little shorter than the 15f pins. and thanks for the heads up on the spacer it looked really close so i figured i would try it. you saved me 60 bucks

here are the pictures you requested
