Exclamation FZR & FZS Pump Tunnel Failure (PICs included)

    This is a warning !!

I would like to inform everyone that where I am at United Arab Emirates in the middle east there are at least 3 incidents of FZR and FZS pump tunnel failure. Basically what happens is a crack starts right in the middle of the pump tunnel. Forum members in the USA have already researched this issue and found that this wouldnt happen on the FZR and FZS unfortunatly it is happening atleast over here.

It didnt happen to me yet "thanks god".

I will take mine for pump tunnel reinforcement at a local fiberglass workshop.

I will try to get some photos by tomorrow.

Just curious, who said it would not happen? I know the conversation occured and I remember someone telling me that Yamaha did not do anything to really prevent it.

My position is to assume it will happen.

    laters...

Got Dammit!! Everytime there's a new beast out there to whoop ass on last years top dog ski there's a friggin' pump tunnel or drive shaft or another ski sinking issue!!

Where do these big mfg's do they're R&D & how extensive is it? They know by now that over 60% of the buyers are gonna mod it so you'd think they would beef up the important areas i.e. Pump tunnel!!!

Where's the thread on the other cracks?

I have to wonder if some bean counter (no offense to any present) say not to spend the money on reinforcing it because aftermarket will take care of it for the modders and they can pay for it. It's fine for the folks running 30mph, making a turn and they pee themselves.
