Reviews of GoPro, ATC2K, etc.
I went searching for information comparing the various GoPro Hero models, along with the ATC2K and ran across this website. I haven't read through it too much yet, but I thought other Green Hulkers might find it interesting. Looks like good info.

I would like to know if a Olympus Stylus 1030 SW Digital Camera would go alright as a helmet cam compared to the gopro or Atct3k video footage wise.

These cameras have really come a long way recently. I see what guys are doing with the new GoPro Hero Wide and I'm jealous. A couple of Christmases ago, my lovely wife gave me an original GoPro Hero still camera (No video mode, no SD card slot, VGA resolution) and an ATC2K. Frankly, they're both relatively sucky. I just posted this video to YouTube in response to a thread over on XH2O. Be forewarned: it's not worth watching, but that's what I was demonstrating by uploading it.

It's hard to figure out which is a better option because all the videos are on youtube, which makes any camera look bad because of the compression they use.

I have the ATC2K, and got one of the first units for Beta testing from Or. Sci. to find out how it would hold up in the PacNW surf.
I like it.. It just takes a little creativeness to figure out a really good mounting location. None of these cams have stabilizer control, so they are all going to be choppy.

This is the first video I did with the Olympus 1030, its not perfect thou. I kept on getting my finger in front of the lens. And the sun kept on making these lines on the video but you can see the quality of the video after being processed thru You Tube. The raw video is a lot better by far.
The progrhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYMyQkaQfI8am used for editing was Power Di

This video was done with the GoPro Hero5MP mounted on my helmet.
Video editing was again done with Power Director7. The raw video is also much better than what you see from You Tube.
