    Exclamation Everybody please look.......

I just wanted everyone to see the little gremlin that was haunting me on Voodoo's ski. In the attached pictures you will see two fuel pick ups. One is a new part and the other is out of voodoos ski. Steve had removed the screen flap when he was doing the paint work this spring. What was happening was that the internal fuel line for the reserve pick up had expanded(lengthend/swelled) enuf to, interupt the flow of fuel at 6800 rpm and above.
If you look at the bottom cap of the pick up, the area directly under the reserve pick up is solid not the screan mesh material in the middle. I would suggest that you gus check you pick ups. His boat hads 135hrs on it.
If you guys have any questions about this just let me know....
    Thanks, Travis

Tape measure health or not, this is a possible problem and he is sharing good information. The SAME thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I chased a problem for almost 3 months. Basically I dissasembled the entire fuel system to find it.

-I had lengthened the hoses using urethane hose.
-They had "grown" longer from whatever reason.
-They pushed against the cap, which in turn, pushed against the bottom of the tank, partially sealing themselves off.

Careful what you use as fuel line, tees or clamps. I found that zip ties in a fuel tank let go fairly quick. Ureathane fuel line swells. Plastic not designed to resist fuel mixtures get brittle. Stock pickup or something solid like aluminum is best.

I took the bottom piece off my fuel pickups and extended the lines and added clunks.

This problem surfaced in 2001. back then the fix was to remove the flapper door and cut 1/2 inch off the fuel (not reserve) pickup. I remember because I did it.
