    Welcome to the Hulk

There have been several good threads covering the water-in-oil tank problem, and how to repair the Weber oil tank.

Have a look in the MSX forum, and use the search function.

    Click below for service manuals.

    Hi Jean,

    Welcome to Greenhulk

I am guessing you have oil in the water expansion tank? Can you run us through what has recently happened? recent use?, storage?, overheat warning?

If it has oil in the water it can come from a few places for example head gasket failure(do a compression test) Water pump seal (unlikely) oil cooler again unlikely but possible points of entry.

Does the cooling system maintain pressure?

And you thought you were the one going to ask all the questions

    Cheers

    Hi Bunny,

The oil tank contamination and Coolant contamination are two separate faults as long as you are not loosing coolant internally.

I take it you have rectified the water in oil in the oil tank but still have a problem with oil in the coolant. And you did a good clean up job with the internals of the cooling system(no oily residue left behind)

When you had the engine out did you find any reason for the fault? Did you replace the water pump seal?

Do a coolant system pressure check, if there is no leak down from the cooling system and no external leaks and you are satisfied the head gasket is OK you will need to start to isolate components that could possibly leak oil into the coolant. Pressurize the oil to coolant heat exchanger at the front, not an easy task. Another place oil and coolant come close together under pressure is the turbo bearing housing, this would have to be cracked for this to happen and I have never heard of it happening, but you did ask for ideas so I am throwing them up!

    Cheers
