Affordable R+D or Riva ECU for the SHO

Any news when they're being released?

I can't afford a motec and don't want to get an R+D Powershot and have it made redundant the following month when a new ECU comes out

C'mon. Someone must have heard something by now

I'm stuck around 71mph having spent the best part of $1500, probably much more with customs and delivery...........

Gimme some good news chaps ....

Rumor has it that Rivas ECU is going to be $2200.

Gosh, I hope I am wrong.

I thought R&D was just gonna whore out the ViPEC anyway.....

The only "affordable" option is gonna be the Powershot. Period.

I think whenever nobody has an ignition solution at/under $1000, then the door gets opened (albeit slowly) for other companies to step in and take over a market.

The whole $4000 ECU thing is similar to gas prices...once they get you used to paying $5 for premium, then the fan boyz always step in, and smirk about how you need to "pay to play."

It's horseshit and you get to pay for it. Vote with your dollars.

    I couldn't agree more Mark.

I can't figure out why nobody (I mean manufacturer) seems to be on top of developing software to tune the stock ECU with. I mean we have tons of software to tune cars and bikes, why not skis? Does the PCM just not support changes at all?

I would kill to be able to tweak some things on my ski with EFI live.

IMO, It's all relative. Put a M600 in a Porsche 997 with sensors and ~$1,500 in tuning and I call that cheap.

Shobiz, you have far too much income.

And why would you need to tune a Porsche in the states. A basic 996 does 173mph standard. A 997 175+mph? You can go 55mph or is it 65mph in certain states?

At least in the UK we can push our Porkers a bit with our speed limits..... or pop over to Europe and let rip on the highways with no limits at all. Sorry, just rubbing our one and only advantage home a little.....

It must be costing us $300 plus for every extra 1mph on the SHO. That ain't cheap for most of us. Parts on the hole are twice as expensive here in the UK after customs etc

Sorry to bore with my half cut drivel. Got smoked by Biilbobs 04 RXT at weekend by at least 4mph and it pissed me off

So!!! What is your point. I guess its cool to Spend $12000.00 to $17000.00 On a brand new PWC. $500-2000 on a supercharger $400.1500 on a Intercooler 300-500 on an air intake pipe! ETC!!!

$3000-4500 for a system the you can plug and play with certain parts.
And when you add more parts to increase performance you can go in and retune the fuel maps, change timming, Data log, Internal A/F meter.
Supports Multiple fuel and timming maps internaly. Support on this site from the manufacture. I could keep going!!!

Maybe you will be able to buy a riva ECU for $2200. But will you be able to change injectors if needed and then retune. Or will you have to spend more money on some bullshit piggy back control or maybe screwing around with the fuel pressure and maybe you will get lucky!!

Maybe you cry babies sould take a better look at what you get for the money!!
