    1999 1200xl - bad motor mount?

This was originally posted in another section but Im reposting here because I figured someone has to know the answer to this...

if the insert inside the rubber part of the motor mount spins when you loosen the bolt, is the motor mount bad? I was still able to remove the bolt but I had to turn it very slowly. Turning too fast would cause the ratchet to feel like it was slipping. All four of the mounts are doing the same thing.

I would have to bring the bad news and say it's about to get ugly, but I could be wrong depending on the construction of the yamaha motor mount.

Typically the threaded bit is bonded to a rubber disc which is bonded to the bracket that attaches to the hull. When any of those bonds break, a new mount is needed.

I'm sure one of the resident Yamaha folks will chime in here with the good answer. My swag is that mount replacement is in your future.
