    Decision: Ultra250 or Ultra LX?

Question: I am contemplating the perspective of purchasing
a Ultra250LX or a Ultra Lx from Cedar Creek. I know the hull is the same,
and i currently own a 2006 15F.Will the UltraLX compare in speed with mine?
The hull being heavier, is it worth modding the rig so to achieve more HP?
I know the Ultra250's have GIO problems, so i'm reluctant of buying one.
I like NA engines better. But I don't want to ride something that moves like a
coffin on the water either. Any response will be appreciated. Thanks

The LX is going to be slower than your 15f. The LX will run about 54 mph stock. You can do some small mods and advance the timing and have it running around 56-57 mph like I have my wifes running.
If the mid 50's is to slow you need to go ahead with the 250.

Well if you have a cock and balls go with the 250...

If you have a sandy vag, go with the lx..

    LOL JUST KIDDING GUYS!!!!!!

Seriously, I think that the lx is good for wives who don't really want to go fast, but I think anyone who rides alot and like to have fun would be dissapointed in the long haul and wishing he/she would have opted for the 250. Take if from me as I went in to buy a 15 f, got the 250 for a few hundred more and have thanked god every day since.

As far as GIO, since 08 it has been a pretty much non issue. I have an 07 and have not had a problem with it. I put an ocms on it to be safe.

The best thing you could to is get a 260x.

In a perfect world that would work, I'm looking at the LX because of affordability. Maintenance, fuel economy, not to mention 2-3 K price difference.
Thats not to say when I go next week to buy an LX, I won't say ah hell and just get a 250/260

I am not exagerating when I say this, I got my 07 250 for the same price as the 07 lx that was sitting right next to it. If you look around there are great deals on leftover 250's.

If you want to stay NA, check out the Yamaha HO. It's 1800 cc's this year. With 11:1 compression and 1800cc it should make more power than the 15f. You should be able to modify that ski to do 66-67 just like the 15f, but in a more stable hull.

u will need the supercharger with the mass of the ultra hull. its a tank and i cant imagine a hundred less horsepower (160). i come from the world of stand ups and these couches are so big and heavy i find myself bored with them after a while. the only thing that brings back the smile is when i grab some throttle and watch the boost soar and hang on for dear life.. if you are not going to get the supercharger look into buying a different ski that is lighter and more agile. i would wait and save some more money and get the 260x, then all u would have to do is squeeze your butt cheaks real tight to stay on the thing while cornering at full throttle!
