    Electrical Problem??

Some of you guys may remember me from last season. If you don't, you will get to know me a lot this season... lol.

Anyway, I was having a lot of problems last season with one of my skis (2003 Polaris Virage). It was difficult to get going, but once you got up to speed it ran fine.

See post #3 for everything I worked on last season (I also changed two rusty parts in the electrical box).

Now the problem I have is that on start up, the electrical box seems to make a buzzing noise. I opened the box up and it looks clean. Voltage reads fine on the display, so I am completely lost.

I can take a video and embed it on this thread so your guys can hear.

I removed the electrical box and discovered that it is not making the noise. I think it is the Solenoid-Starter. I will post a video.

It reads fine. It is at around 12.

I took the solenoid starter off, hoping I could tell if it is bad, but I can't get it apart. I went to put it back on, but I can't remember which terminal the cord that plugs into the bottom goes on.

Also make sure the terminals are cleaned and make great contact. also the terminals at the solenoid where them 2 red cables connect.

you can skip/bypass the solenoid. see if it starts without using the solenoid.

Where would I connect the positive cable?

them 2 red cables connected to the solenoid put them together. tap them together. that will bypass the starter switch. see what happens. if boat wants to start its the solenoid that is bad.

does sound like a weak battery though. but if you know she is in great condition its the solenoid that is clicking in the video.
