    SMoke after Jetworks install

Can anyone help me troubleshoot? I am really pissed off about this...

WHat could have caused this, and from what could it have happened?

THe ski was fine for 5 mins and th valve opened at what seemed like 5-6k rpms, I was towed back to the ramp and the ski could still start up.

    Thanx

I think the valve is supposed to open at around 3500 rpms. 5000 to 6000 rpms is lightly to get to hot for the rubber gaskets and stock sound suppression if you havnt gone freeflow, even the freeflow can melt I suppose. Dont think it caused damage to the engine though.

easy...smoke from where? Compression readings? Did you run it on the hose? What do the plugs look like?

    A little more info please

Its raining now so I cant look but....plugs were a little rusty on the the screw in part before I went out today, and me and my dad couldnt change them today.

I am pretty sure that the valve was opening at 5-6k rpms though and that was the preblem.

I also have no clue how to check compresion.

Edit:It seemed like the smoke was coming from the right side of the engine compartment, between the stinger and the batt box.

The motor is probably OK. The valve should be set at 3000-3500 rpms. You can grab the spring and stretch it by hand if you need more tension. You may have melted the suppression box, or your rubber coupler is loose/leaking.

I live over in Titusville and have a couple days off if you want to drag it over.

Doesn't sound hard to diagnose or resolve.

Don't stretch the spring, that will make it open at higher RPMs. What kind of Jetworks is it, one of the ones you add/subtract washers to, or adjustable?

Check all of your couplers; I had a jetworks failure once, it melted my bilge hose and made a lot of smoke, but all was OK.

Thanx for the offer duke, I will try to diagnose here first and then let you know. And titusville seems to be pretty far away from me.
