RXT 215 Avergage RPM in Florida?
I have a 2008 RXT 215 that a purchased brand new. I've never had the ski's speedometer above 65 mph at WOT. The ski also seems to max out at 7800 RPM. Is this normal? Most of the threads I've read on here indicate that a stock RXT should be hitting around 8100. Is the Florida heat limiting my top speed? Or is there something else I should be looking at?

check your oil level if its overfill it will affect the rpm and also the weather in florida plays a big a factor in the rpm .

I just had my RXP and RXT out today in the Intercoastal and they both were hitting 69-70 mph with a 130 lbs and 165 lbs rider. It's not the heat ..

Also use a GPS to check your speed. Speedo is not accurate

I was wondering the exact same thing yesterday. I have a slightly modified RXP that will pull 74 mph at 8100 rpm in the winter. Yesterday, it was nearly 100 deg outside and it will only pull 7750 at best. I'm trying to figure out if its the heat or my SC needs shimming.

If heat, having too much oil, and OPAS are ruled out, are there any other possible RPM limiting factors that I should consider? Keep in mind that I have never hit above 7860 RPM with this RXT and it was purchased brand new. Proper break-in, and maintenance have been done correctly as well.
Is it possible that some motors are just weaker than others due to some kind of abnormality during manufacturing?

Always a possibility with mass manufacturing that
you can have 1 that is at the max on tolerance stack, etc.
I would think the heat is a bigger factor. You might
just want to put on a better air intake and possibly
do the lower Thermostat mod or replace Tstat housing with
the Rotax Racing unit.
Just as example:
Friday and saturday, I was at 8100-8140 rpms in 100* air.
Sunday morn I went out in 80* air & just like magic,
I was riding on my 8350 rev limiter. Since we don't have gears, etc
like a car.. we need to pitch for our WOT that is ideal for our
IMO, either add more air or more power OR

Its more than likely the prop. Just needs a little attention. I doubt the SD dealer will do anything about it for you. When did you buy the ski? If it was in the last couple weeks, its been real hot and most guys are down 100-200rpms in this heat.
