Unhappy Help... My 01 virage txi just stopped working!!!

ok so here's my situation i just bought a 2001 virage txi i took it out for a quick spin w it a few weeeks ago and it seemed to be working fine it did have a little hesitation and skipping. so i went out and bought all new spark plugs 4 it (they guy i bought it from did tell me that i should change them) and changed them, checked the oil level (was full) filled up the gas and took it out again.... at first it ran a little rough (and i mean little) from 2-3 rpm once i could open it up to over 4-5 it seemed to be running much better! i rode it around the lake for a few hours going fast and putting around turning it on and off etc ran fine then when i was going back to the dock to take it out i had to wait for a spot on the dock so i shut it off for a few mins and then that was that it didnt want to start again the whole MFI went blank then i tried taking the lanyard out and putting it back in and the MFI would come back on but as soon as i would hit the start button it would go blank again (tried that a few times) i had to be towed back to the dock (cuz i floated away )

can anyone please help me??? (and please remember im a newbie lol)

The MFI going blank when you try to start is the main clue.

Remove, clean, and re-tighten both ends of both battery cables. Pay particular attention to the engine block end of the black negative cable. Make sure the metal is clean and shiny, and the bolt is clean.

Make sure all the red wire ends are clean at the start solenoid (relay), and the studs and nuts are clean, and re-tighten.

If that doesn't fix it, then the battery is suspect, even if it is new.

Put a multi-meter on the battery, and check the voltage while trying to start the engine. If the voltage drops below 10.6 volts, the battery is no good.
