Changing Fuel Filter is an Easy Job

Don't be worried to tackle this one. I did it in a couple hours this evening. The hardest part is getting the damn glove compartment off of my RXP (GTX is much easier). Removal is straight forward, just disconnect all the tubing and connectors and then the nuts holding the fuel pump assembly in place. It removes out of the glove compartment opening very easy. Pry the fuel filter off with a straight screwdriver and press the new one in place. I actually grabbed some papertowels and swabbed any junk in the bottom of the fuel tank out (mine was already empty). Assembly was pretty easy once you realize that the fuel pump assembly is spring loaded. Took me a few minutes, I thought it was hitting something . I don't see how anyone can torque to the factory screw spec, so I followed the sequence in the maintenance manual with a nut driver and then rounded the nuts one more time. I will probably do a pressure test when the engine is back in the RXP.

BTW - on a 100 hour RXP that filter was NASTY . Bright and shinny now. Hopefully that $20 will keep the fuel pump from starving for some time.

so there are 2 fuel filters?? inner and outer?

im gonna stop by a parts store today and see what i can find.

I tried looking on ebay but they use longer part numbers and no seadoo models.

With regards to the fuel pressure, what torque does the manual call for the fuel pump bolts?

im tackling this prob this weekend, wanna get rid of my sluggishness LOL.
