    Dead Display

Okay guys, last time before I order the new display.....

Went home late last night and checked the coupling between the ECM and the display (where the diagnostic plug goes) and it's fine. Checked (and double checked) each connector coming from the display harness and all are solid/seated, with no signs of shorting/etc. I tried moving wires around and retesting, etc.

End result - completely dead display. No lights/sirens/bells/whistles. I didn't notice any sign of water intrusion prior to the display quitting.

    1. Anyone else have a display go completely dead on them without obvious damage?

    2. Anybody got one laying around they don't need? (Yeah, I know. Boats.net).....

    Thanks,
    Sean

    05GP1400r,

Thanks for the offer; I actually have 2 skis, and can pull the display from my other ski to just test. I was trying to avoid doing that if I can, but it looks like that's going to have to happen now.

    Thanks for the offer though!

That sounds like a dead fuse to me! Everything else checks out, check the fuse!

In taking a quick look at the manual for the wiring, it looks like one of the 3 wires from the display to ECM bundle does route to a 3 amp fuse; I'm assuming that must be in the fuse bundle in the CDI box in the back of the engine compartment? Is this the fuse you're thinking of RX? If so, I haven't checked that yet (dangit), and I'll do so when I get home tonight!

    WFO, pm coming your way!

    Thanks, Sean
