    Question VTS Cover replacement help

    ok so i have a new cover and gasket for the housing

    the gasket seems like it is 2 thick and i cannot get it to close

    there has to be some type of trick that doesnt make this a P.I.T.A replacement

    put the gasket on the housing first. Then slide the cover over it. I spent over two hours on this little preoject once....

    yea ive tried that before and its like sticking a fat lady in small closest

    +1..I just got done doing one on mine too...After you put the gasket on the housing spray the cover and gasket with window cleaner,this will let the cover slide on without binding up the seal ..

    I always use just a touch of white lithium grease on the seal... seems to keep it from drying out and cracking over time as well

    so how does the seal fit on the housing?

    is it supposed to pac-man the housing or just on the outer edge?
    such as making the seal flat and pushing into groove of cover so when closing it pitches both sides

    a picture would be great... lol...
