I have a 1300R with stage II ket less heads and would like to know if any one has noticed a difference in speed or power with no D plate or cat just wide open.

I didn't notice any better performance from the d-plate. But you don't want to keep your cat/con in cause it will break at some point and jam up your exhaust.

    Welcomed to the board.
    correct answer is:
in essence, the D plate is not a performance part, merely preventative measure to remove the problematic cat. it is a part used by yamaha in non US ski`s.

you should not run without the plate or cat in place. Back pressure is essential to the operation of 2 strokes.
I believe someone has tried no cat/plate but has inserted some kind of restriction at the end of the stinger to create back pressure...

Hey Mike, get that tach to work properly?

You will lose rpm on top with less back pressure. This has been proven over and over again. Ie, 1200R vs. 1300R waterbox. SS vs. Free Flow. Cat Con vs. D-plate.
