    problems getting out the hole

    i have a 1996 seadoo xp and it is real slow gettin out the hole then it takes off when it finally does. it just revs up real high and doesnt really go anywhere. it has a factory race pipe, water injection, umi intake grate, and a 16/21 impeller. i was wondering if changing the impeller would be the way to go or what i dont know what to do any help would be greatly appreciated.

    out of the hole

    I would check the clearance on the wear ring to the prop,I think min clearance is 15mm to 20 mm. It sounds like the pump is not processing the water out the jet pump properly.I had this on an older ski and the wear ring was chewed up bad from cavitation. The only way to make sure is to pull the pump because you cant get a good look at the wear ring from looking in from the steerring nozzel

    i hope its closer tolerances than 15mm cus thats a HUUUUGE GAP i kid i kid

    sounds like a wear ring issue to me

    ive got the off and took apart and the wear ring aint in to bad of shape but im gonna replace it and see what it does

    mongorunner I guess that was wrong I should have said thousands of an inch,dam metric system one day I'll get it right

    1mm (.040) is max clearence on the wear ring.
