    97 GP1200 no spark

Was well peeved to find had no spark on my ski when first wanted to take it out this year. Was fine when parked it up last year. Anyway have done Stator checks and are close to values of the manual but CDI has no ohm readings what so ever cross the cables. I guess it has gone kapput unless there is something im missing . What would make the cdi go like that.

No spark, did you check the pulser coils.
Usualy not all 3 are bad.
How were you trying to test the CDI ?
I have tried to test CDI in the past per the service manual and they all tested bad even though they worked just fine,go figure.
Test everything but the stator and if everything tests good then look at the stator.
Find another stator and swap them out is the only way I know to test a stator.

    Wink

You will probably find the stator coil is burnt out. The rectifier /regulator will need replacing along with the stator so as prevent it going again. I had this happen a few times before Pistonwash told me about what happens. The battery should be isolated when not being used as this helps prevent the problem.

Sounds like you need a battery.

i got one of these odessey sealed batteries and was a bit flat when i went to turn it over this year. I took it off and charged it and she wont spark now at all. I first tested ohms across the pulse colis and showed good values but when i tried testing again i didn't get any readings. Guess stator gone. But still got no readings when testing the CDI , i hope that aint gone too!
