anyone bringing skis for sale to the august gathering?

I am looking to buy another ski, and I figured that might be the best time to do it.

the sl650 I just got is simply too small for me...perfect for the wife and friends, but a 300 pound frame calls for some meat.

slt780 would probably do it, eh?

Virage TX or TXi, or Genesis might be good choices

virage tx is most definitely my other choice, but I doubt my wallet is fat enough to get one.

Depends on what condition it is in, and how much work you are willing to do on it.

Find one that isn't running properly, or at all. If the engine internally is not completely toasted/rusted, the repair probably won't be too expensive, once you troubleshoot it.

Ficht models can be an interesting choice, as many repair shops shy away from them, and many owners don't know where to begin with troubleshooting them.

yeah that is an option, but I am no mechanic...in fact until dan helps me this weekend with my sl650 carburetors, I still know exactly zilch about how to fix these things.

it looks simple though so I will keep an eye out for something and post it here for your guys' input before I commit to anything.

maybe I will get lucky and find one that runs and that fits in my (wife's) budget.

May I ask, what is your budget (absolute maximum, including any repair costs to get it on the water)?

that is too tough for me to nail down really. I mean if I found a great deal that would be stupid to pass up I would find a way to make it work.

I figured if I kept to a slt or sltx for now I should be able to find something I could have some fun with for this year, and then next year I could unload both of these and get something much closer to what I actually want.

to directly answer your question though, less than 2k for now...next year is a different story.
