    Gasket question

    01 GTX Carbed.
There are two air silencer adapter gaskets with a metal core that go between the carbs and the silencer. OEM cost is almost $20 each!!! They are in pretty rough shape. I was thinking of cutting my own using some gasket material for fuel situations. Is this not a good idea? Alternatives? $40 for two friggin gaskets is nuts.

That area does'nt see a huge ammount of pressure so it will probably work just fine, The head gasket for my 2000 XP is $45 now that's crazy!
