riva power filter install and grate question

I Got my riva stage one, I'm curious how long it takes to install the filter?? I have the ski pump apart due to sucking up a stick. I wanna ride this weekend, so I only have sat till about 3 to get the ski togeather in order to ride on sunday.

Also when installing the grate I heard you should heat up the bolts before you try and take them out. Is this true how should I heat them up?? THis is on a 12 hr 06 rxp.

Not sure how long to heat them, but be very careful the three smaller bolt inserts are in the plastic pump shoe. If ya start early I dont think you'll have any problem finishing up on time.

Carfanatic: many people save a lot of time by zip tying the front of the riva tube to the mounting bracket, rather than messing with the tiny, "hard to reach" screws.

Also, with a ski that new you will probably not have a problem unscrewing the grate bolts without heat.

Use a small torch to heat the bolts. On mine I heated until the red loctite started oozing out. If you don't use any heat you will not break the bond of the loctite and screw up your inserts.

Takes more time to remove stock air box as to put Riva back in.

Let us hear about Grate bolts-

Cheap Propane torch might work?- Never tried it.
