    Update on my 1300

Well I have been out of town for a couple of weeks and my ski has been in the shop.

    News so far is

    Warped Head
    Pistons rings are shot
Some exhaust bracket needs to be replaced ? (who knows lol)
Possible Crank Bearing failure (havent gotten down that far yet)

I am going to have them install my 2005 Pump and 14/20 while they have it. Im not sure if they have gotten to check the Reeds yet but I plan to replace them with VF3's if they are shot. What other "small" helpfull stuff can I add while they are doing this?

Did you ever bother to see what the original sales date of that ski was ?

Any yamaha service dept can tell you with the vin number.

Yea, it was sold to the guy in August of 2004. The dealer said they could look at it but the wait would be like a month since they only have one yamaha tech. And then I told them it had a D-plate and they didn't even want to touch it lol. He did tell me though they have seen alot of GP1300R's with some hoses popped off because of shitty clamps.

Timing key sounds like a good idea, what octane do you have to run with the timing key? And has that Advent engine controller came out yet? I was waiting on that but it is seeming like it is going to be never at this rate.

Recommend min 92 with the key.

Dont hold your breath waiting on Advent.

Yea, see this is the reason why I have been waiting

Oklahoma = 91 unless I go out and buy race gas which is a pain in the ass just for the ski.

Now if I could change it on the fly every time I felt like going to get some good gas that would be great.

You're also at 1230 feet of elevation. You can get away with 91 octane.

If you still need parts for your motor, I have a good deal on a complete 1300 top end for sale in the classifieds. Ben
