Just bought a '94 Waveraider 700. What do i do next?
Hi everyone, i just bought a '94 waveraider 700 purple hull and as far as i know it is completely stock. I have done some researching and found that it is a good idea to switch to premix which I am doing. I also ordered a primer kit as well.
What else can i do to increase the performance and reliability of this ski? I do mostly rough water/wave jump riding so that's what i would like to focus my mods on. I've heard of cutting out the center bars on the intake grate and something about cutting the ride plate flush with the back of the hull. Figured I'd ask before i went cutting stuff.
I'd like to learn more about what a water bypass is and any cooling mods i could do as well.
Thanks for any help!

Aftermarket impeller will help, I believe the stock is a very thick blade aluminum impeller.
Aftermarket intake grate will help keep the pump loaded too.
If you dont mind running higher octane I would go with having your head mild for more compression. Good bang for the buck mod.
Aftermarket CDI will give you more rpm and better accel.
You got a fun boat, enjoy it, it was one of the last light weight fun boats.

thanks for the reply! i was going to look into having some engine work done when winter comes around. What other engine mods are available? Which ones are good, but still reliable?
Sorry for all the questions, I've been riding jet skis since i was a kid, but never had my own to modify until now.
Thanks again for the help!

The 94 701 RAIDER was the first consumer ski to easily run 60MPH, change prop, mill head, rejet carbs, factory pipe, have fun
