    polaris 780slt

I have an 1997 polaris 780 slt that oil quit injecting into middle cylinder and fried so said cylinder. A shop wanted $2500 to replace motor not option of rebuild which seemed crazy. Deal of lifetime came a friend had same motor with same problem. So I cleaned up mine and switched middle cylinder, and piston with a good one from other motor. I would like to prevent this from happening again not sure if I should elminate oil pump and just premix gas. And if I can what ratio I should use?? Please help! Thanks Mike.

You will want to remove the oil pump and install a block off plate over the hole. Also there is a driveshaft in there I believe. Remove that too. Normally the Fuji pumps are very reliable-but if you had probs, definitely remove it.

Go with premix if you had an oil pump issue.

Remove the pump and internal parts. Replace with a block off plate.

    Cap off oil line fittings.

Remove the oil tank and install a 33 ohm resitior to prevent the MFD from blinking.

Or leave the oil tank sender installed and in the "full" position.

The correct premix ratio would be 32:1 for breaking in rings.

And 40: for regular riding. You may be able to use 50:1 with a quality synthetic oil.

Just to note since no one else had mentioned, you can get oil block of kits at atlanticjetsports.com or sbtontheweb.com or any number of other places online. The kits come with plastic nipples to seal off the injectors on the carbs. And I would just go ahead and get one of those easy premix cups at walmart or autozone that you can fill with oil and mix per gallon, jut put the oil in before you fill up. Make sure you are using the correct oil, I think its TW-III, someone else should verify that first, i really dont even remember.

I havent put a resistor in, Kevin, will the 33 ohm work correctly for the slt750, i have a 95 with the digital gauges. I would love for it to stop blinking lol
