    sl 750 problems

I have a 93 sl750 was running great today and while i was ridding it just made this high pitched whinnig noise. It sounds lik the shaft os spinning but the impeller is not? Is there a shear pin or something that could have broke and caused this? Any help would be great.

sounds like a stripped coupler and/or shaft ...
pulll the pump (4 long bolts) and check the shaft for wear..
take some good pics and these guys will get you set

Yeah it's pretty easy and cheap. IF that is it!!!!

You'll need to remove the pump and driveshaft for better inspection.

A nice upgrade for that ski would be a newer 148mm jet pump from any 94 and up.

sound easy we will see when I pull the pump tomorrow. What is the benefit of the larger pump?

Larger pump gives better acceleration, has more impeller choices, more replacement parts, and can be added onto to make an extended jet pump which also adds more top speed and better steering.

2x4 --- pry with the end of the wood on a lip on the pump and push the other end using the hull as the pivot--FROM BOTH SIDE pry a little, then do the other, ect
other will post up good ways as well

got it figured out I pulled the four bolts and didnt realize there was a water hose conected from inside the hull so as soon as i disconnected that the pump came right out.

I found the shaft all grinded down where it connects to the enging. going to a polris dealer tomorrow hopefully they have some parts in stock...not really getting my hopes up. If they dont i will be ordering one online tomorrow.

Anyhting I need to do to make sure everything is lined up correctly? I have some silcone so I can watertight everything and the rubber seal that goes around the pump seems to be in good shape so im going to reuse that. Thanks again for the help guys. internet makes everything much easier.
