04 RXP at a loss...
Ok, bought a 04 in the winter, had a few issues. Fixed them all(well DSolie did). Ran good on the water, pulled great.
Then, when starting, the fuel line came unattatched at the rail, and ignited. Fire. He got it out, and I needed a new main harness, and some bilge lines. The rest was fine. Started fine, so I went and got it
Bring it home, starts and runs great, revs up, SC was just rebuilt. Put it in the water it will only rev to 4500. Thought it was a coil issue, and dan had swapped coils to the ones that came with the harness. Put my original ones on, same issue. Pulled the fuel rail, all 3 injectors spray nicely. Once again, tried it, same thing. Its like a 2 stroke that won't get up into the powerband.
Checked the SC hoses, squeezed the big one, and revved it, pushed my hand off. Good pressure. You can hear it when its out of the water. Full revs.
Its just so weird it runs so good on the trailer, but not in the water. Any ideas? I will check compression tomorrow, but I am really at a loss here. Pulling the intake tomorrow to see if theres anything glaring under it.
I know its badly lean in the front cylinder, as you can see from the plug pics, but why? Not a good plug chop, since they were fairly new, and it would barely hit 5K. It doesn't seem to be running on 2 cylinders(at least out of the water), but it may be.
Any help would be awesome.
Oh, no codes are showing either.

Isnt 4500 the RPM's for the learning key ? That plug on the R sure looks fouled. Most plugs out of a 4tec are whitish

Haha. That was what I asked Dan the first time out. Nope, no learning key. I did change the plugs before I went out today, same issue with 3 new plugs.

good to see canadians on this site!!!...first thing that comes to mind for me is...if it runs great on the trailer then you have a gasket issue somewhere....looking at the plugs maybe a head gasket...you have a water leak somewhere if it runs like that on the trailer IMO??
