Yup, very common method drag racing engine builders use.....bolt stretch measuring.

This is a sore subject with me. A stretch bolt is what most likely caused 5 grand worth of damage to my rxpig!

Bolt stretch isn't the most accurate, though.... ask Mikel about Shooters calibrated arm. He torques everything by hand, till the proper number of knuckles turns white.
