    N TX Lake Riding ?

    Greetings--

We are considering taking a few days next week to run around on some North TX lakes-- Granbury, Eagle Mt, Whitney, ???. We've got to be in FTW on the 5th so though that was a good general area to run around.

We got a chance to spend a couple of days on Texoma last week-- nice large lake to ride on , but a bit rough when we were there. We stayed at the Lighthouse Marina's cabins (out of Pottsborro on 120)-- decent place-- good staff.

Any comments on the lakes-- places to see, places to stay ?

Talking about possibly doing Joe Pool or Brazos on Sunday afternoon. Anyone else in that area?

Lake Whitney-- Nice riding lake, from what we got to see..... We didnt gvet to ride around but 45 min or so-- When we filled up the Doos while on the road-- mine didnt get filled up as it should have. Soooo we got on the lake and found I had less than 1/3 tank. The marina we found close by wasn't open. We rode that until the alarm went off then headed out.
    *sigh*

    Possum Kingdom
We got there in the afternoon- Launched at the BVRA launch next to Sams's Dock. We stayed at http://www.pkhideaway.com/ .

Ran the upper part of the lake that afternoon. Lovely scenery, a few boats, great water.

We got up Friday AM early and were on the lake by 8am. No other boats, no wind, glassy water-- Ahhhhh.. We ran from the dock down river to the dam, winding our way through the lake. Fun lake to ride when its not crowded. On the way back from the dam, there were a few more boats which added a little chop, thus a few fun bumps !! I could see how on weekends, this lake would become really crowded.

Odd deal at PK lake. The BVRA required a daily use permit per boat ($5). *shrugs*
