    Impeller Wear marks

    Anyone seen this before and is it OK?? Seems to be wearing via contact..

    Shaft has no play as far as I can feel...

    Has that impeller been repitched? The impeller can grow if so and has to be filed or fitted.

    Just looked at those pics enlarged. In that first pic the blades look pretty f**ked up.

    You probably had salt get between the wear ring & housing & start corrosion. This causes the wear ring to bulge, which is why it is grinding off the blades on the impeller. The same thing happened to Rip. When he installed a new Skat he heard it hitting the wear ring when he started the ski on the trailer. The wear ring will need to be replaced & the impeller can be repaired, however it's probably cheaper to buy another used OEM prop on the board. The best way to prevent this is to run the ski in fresh water on the way home from the ocean.

    IMO leave it alone as long as it is not hitting anything or you have cavitation.

    Okay then... I flush each ride but may need to flush it out from the bottom. No affect on the MPH yet..
