    IC comparison pics

I know most of you have seen the RR IC and/or the Riva power cooler. But here they are side by side:

I haven't installed the Riva unit yet. I'm waiting on the OPAS block-offs, then I will drop it in. It will be easy to install because my engine is sitting on a table in the garage

How much do the RR intercoolers go for ?
Do they come with the BOV like the Riva does ?

I hear the RR doesn't need the thru hull exhaust to fit, is this true that thing looks like a monster...

RR IC's are around $850. The do not come with a BOV. Rotax doesn't believe in BOV's. No, you do not have to cut the hull to use the RR IC. But you can if you want.

Please post if you notice any difference. I'd like to get an IC but haven't heard any solid info on the difference. Everone seems to go with the Riva but the RR seems like it would be more efficient.

Has anyone thought of mounting it in the front compartment where it is cooler. Can you extend the tubes that far ?

I know this sounds far fetched but I was thinking of mounting one in the front with copper tape wrapped around the tube that should be cooled. Then setup a water cooling system around the copper tape. Then have a tube going over the whole thing to would have air pulled off and out of the hull using a bilge blower.

If a plain IC can give 15-25 more horsepower I would think this would give alot more. Almost using 2 IC's.

Anyone know why the stock IC is supposed to be removed ? Wouldn't it be more effiecient to run 2 IC's ?

Well I have never heard of a supercharger or turbo set up using a twin set of IC, unless you have a twin set of SC or Turbos!

Anyone tried to extend the aftermarket IC to the front compartment ?

Would the extended hoses be too much air restriction ?

WOW!! that Vortech IC is tiny compared to the RR unit.

I can't wait to see the results of the back to back testing.
