Cleaning out engine can I start without SC
Can I run an engine with the SC pulled out ?
I've got metal dust that went in my TB a little.
I've fogged inside the TB.
I pulled out the spark plugs and fogged inside.
I pulled the fuel injectors and fogged inside.
Now I believe I'm supposed to start the engine with the throttle pulled to run it in "flood" mode and clean it up.
Not sure what else to do to get the dust out. Not that fogging will do anything...
This dust has me paranoid.

I've ran a few skis with no SC and had no ill effects. I didn't rev them or anything but you should be ok. put a rag in the hull under the SC hole (not in the hole!) in case any oil splashes out.
Good to see you coming around again Kinch.

Oil will come out of the SC hole. Lots of it. I ve just held my hand over the hole to keep the oil in the engine if running for a short period.

Really? I didn't have much come out. Either way if it needs to be done it can be.
