Amsoil help '94 WaveRaider fouling plug?

This is kind of late to ask since I have already bought some Amsoil HP Injector oil to try but I'll do it anyway.

I have a '94 WaveRaider 700 that keeps fouling plug #1 when I idle too long. It has started to do this over the last couple of years. I had been using QuickSilver 2 cycle oil and decided to give the Amsoil a try because I was curious if a synthetic oil would make a difference. I am also hoping on cutting down on the smoke.

Do you folks think this may help with the fouling plug?

    Thanks

Sounds more like leaking needle and seat...and or improperly set low speed needles. Have you changed the pop off pressure or done any mods? If not....go to the first 2 statements!

I've made no modifications. The carburetors were rebuilt a few years ago so I'd hope it's not a needle/seat leak.

Do you have a suggestion for adjusting the carb?

    Thanks

I would still check your needle/seats to ensure on dribbling at idle. If not....it could be the low speed needles need adjusting

You'll have to forgive me, but what do you mean "ensure on dribbling at idle"?

I have a Clymer manual for the raider and was just reading the section on adjusting the carburetor. My problem is how to do this properly on two carburetors. How do you tell if you're making progress (or making it worst) adjusting a carburetor if the other carburetor is not adjusted correctly?

    Thanks

I have been using Amsoil Interceptor oil for years now in my 94 waveraider, I have had no problems and it burns cleaner. Hope you find your fouling problem. You might try indexing your plugs. Use indexing washers to make the gap on the plug face the exhaust port.

Take off the air cleaner and or F/A whatever you call it and leave it in the water at idle and see if you see fuel dribbling in the body of the carb. If so, your needle and seat are leaking and need replaced.

    Got it.

I know this is a little off of the topic I started, but one of the things that happens is when I hit the throttle at first, the engine bogs down and then begins to spool up (kind of like a car with a bad accelerator pump). When I pull the plugs, they are always wet so I assume it's running fat. Would that be right?

    Thanks

    bog= lean
    Loaded up= rich

Describe what your saying....does it fall on it's face then pick up...or does it sorta sputter then clear out and run?
