07 Gp1300r Look at this crack!

Take a look at this crack in the side of the boat (top left corner above engine).
They claim it came from a forklift when they took delivery of the boat.
It appears they patched it. Should I be considering buying this boat or is this something to stay away from?
    It's an 07 with 67 hours for $5000.

I talked with a guy a few weeks back with a crack in the same area. He does alot of big wave jumping. 5K for that ski is a great price but i would look further into the ski before anything. It could be fixed and im sure it wouldnt be cheap. If the rest of the ski is in good condition, and only paying 5K,it might be worth having fixed. The ski HAS been rode hard though....be careful in your decision.

i would look around for another one, waves/hard riding will only make it worse and you may end up spending quite a bit getting it fixed up,add that to the 5k and you will be pretty close price wise to a 06 (same colour)....

question is can you live with it like that and are you prepared to take a chance ???

So do you think it was cracked from hard riding and the forklift story is BS?
Is this a common area for a stress crack from hard riding.

I just know that a guy had one crack there from hard jumping....lots of air. Im wondering WHY a forklift did the damage. Ok,if it was damaged from a dealer,it would probably be turned into insurance, they cant sell it like that. The ski looks like it lives on the water as shown in pics. No way to get a forklift on the dock. Just has me thinking..."WHY"... If it WAS a forklift blade, were are the blade marks on the ski. I blew the pic up and i cant see anything.

We had a guy at our club last year rode VERY hard and cracked his same year and model ski at same location on BOTH sides! yamaha did a repair under warranty (after much delay), but he broke it AGAIN after 3 rides in rough water. Once the integrity of the hull is compromised, especially around an edge like that, it's always going to be a worry. IMHO I'd walk away, unless you ride flat water!

Riva had some skis that were all crack up from a container that flipped over and they sold them off is part skis. Shooter bought one of them for the engine. You better hope that isn't one that someone fixed. Look inside that hull real close.
