    4200fc or 5200fc

Fixing to do the ppk. I have used the search button but got both as options. Also I assume the shiny side goes up on the inserts? thank you

I prefer 5200 fast cure. Some people here have had the 4200 start falling out. There's only one way to place those pieces into the pump also. Sand them down flat and install.

For sealing the pump shoe I use 3m 4200 fast cure, I want the option to remove it if necessary. I have never had an issue with it coming out, in fact never heard of it happening. The key to sealing the shoe or any other item, is prepping and cleaning the surfaces to be bonded.

    Yup,
it blew out of Jerry's conversion transom plate.

But I really do believe that was related to the weather out here in AZ. It's so dry, we have trouble getting the dang stuff to cure up correctly. I have to leave it disassembled now, for about 30min before even attempting to put it together, or it won't ever cure fully.

Our humidity can run in single digits for lots of time during the year. It's virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get 5200 to cure up under 2 weeks out here.

    you were reading my mail!

also for some reason I get more 4200 that has gone "bad" in the tube than 5200... maybe it doesnt have the shelf life of the 5200 or maybe not as fast of a mover

Cool, thank you for your info. Pulled it last night. Took the other boat out today. Will be shopping for 4200fc or 5200fc tomorrow. Maybe both. Thank you

Just remember if you have to remove the 5200 some of your hull tends to go with it, thats why they call it permanent.
