    Exclamation Leaky intake gasket!!!!!

Alright guys, Its 5pm and im hitting the bottle hard right now! Spent the last 5 hours tryin to chase down an intake leak on my girls GP1200. Tried to do the pressure text last week had a leak on either the carb to carb plate gasket or carb plate to intake gasket. Ordered new ones and put them on today. Same issue, so out came the RTV to make sure the rubber text kit wasnt leaking. Well lets just say it was a no go. So the leak I have is from the carb plate to intake gasket!! Any ideas??? Is there a special torque sequence that i missed? Torque specs? Anything???

I tested mine with my kit and had no issues. I used grease on all the gaskets and currently use the "greens" on the carb/manifold and I use the stock VF3 gaskets on the intake/reed and reed/block.

Have you tried some grease on these when trying to make it seal? If needed I can send you my leak down kit to try vs the rubber. It worked flawless....and I'm offering for you to use it if you want.

I made mine out of plexiglass and gasket material from Napa..

Thanks for the offer but I sealed up the rubber from the inside of the carb plate with some RTV and to still leaks...narrowed it down to the motor side of the center of the carb plate to intake. right behind the center carb. Does anyone use sealant along with the factory gasket?

I didn't ...if your referencing the intake, carb and also "reed" gaskets depending on if your running aftermarket reeds. I did use 1211 on the base gasket because I'm running a copper gasket....but if not, I use marine grease on it also.

I'll try that...whats the difference with the marine grease. Will the blue grease work? like bearing grease? I also have the white lithium grease too...
