    gp1200 ride adjustments

1998 stock 1200. Riva ride plate, protec intake, solas impeller, solid 125 compression on all 3 - otherwise stock.

I decided to play with the set-up because I wanted to see how far above the old set up 52MPH I could get. took spacers out of back of the ride plate. 59 on the GPS., but...

Porpoising like a bronco at anything but very light chop. Even riding upright, with full nose down on the trim is still rough above 45.

Ideas? other than compromise and put some spacers back in.

    Joe

Does your 98 have trim tabs? The later 98's have the hull extended to where the tabs would be. The early 98's came with the stock plastic junkers that would break off.

My hull doesn't have trim tabs. or any signs of plastic ones that broke off.

They make trim tabs for the late 98's and 99's that are smaller. I really don't understand why your porpoising as bad as you are...

maybe sponsons? Should they be all the way up. or pitched full down at the stern ?

I did screw around with them and had them all the way up. Also, I've still got less than 0.5" of washers at the back bolt.

Lowering the sponsons will help some.
