    What's goin' on?

Ran today for the first time on flat water since 15/20, 42's, and new RRSC impellor. My ski ran well for twenty minutes and then just dropped rpm to 6050. SC has metal washers. No strange noises just only running at 6050. I can't get at the SC with these mods due to lack of space and some tools. I'm sure the charger is not turning. Other then that the boat runs well but is now underpowered. Taking it in tomorrow. Any ideas? Total of 19 hours on ski and four on new mods.

If you are sure the charger is not turning, I would say your gear busted. Did you use the right tool to put your washers in or put the gear in a vise like some have suggested? I dont know what kind of metal washers you are using but highly dought it that that is your problem. You should be able to just pull the intake hose off and reach in and try to spin the s/c with your fingers.

    Not me

This is my first ski. My hands will not fit down in the area with this modded boat. I see what I have to get at, it is the black tube that connects to the charger and it has a clamp on it with a little screw. My tools are not extensive but I have learned to do some things to fix basic problems. The impellor and other stuff was put together Tues. of this week. The Charger was sent up to mark just to make sure but I doubt he checked how tight the insides were. He probably did a visual. The washers are "washerkit supercharcher metal" on bill so I'm not sure what kind they are. I ran it for about 7 to 8 minutes after RPM drop.

    Sorry

I forgot. Do not think charger went on load because ran well then I decellerated and 30 seconds later tried to go again and just had no real go. Also if it is a "gear" how much? And is there any liklihood of block damage?

If that gear let go, the damage will be just as bad or worse than if ceramic washers let go. It will definately involve opening up the motor to check for debris and clean/replace things that would have been damaged.....Hopefully it is not that though.....

You have Les Cooke metal washers if you got them thru Mark.

Sounds like something went wrong with the clutch.

Hopefully a hose blew off. Does it sound louder since it slowed down?

    Loud

I don't think it's any louder, the problem is it is really loud to begin with. Jerry I assume the washers came from Mark but he did not put charger together, he only saw it after it was assembled. Again the last time my boat lost power it sounded like poh! This time it just has less power and seems to be running well mechanically minus the SC. The clutch might be it due to the fact that that was the only thing that I was thinking about but did not add last time. Could a clutch go at twenty hours?

    Thanks

No whine at all. The hose disables the charger that much? Where is it?
