For anyone who has done and tested the reverse bucket mod

I have an 07 rxp with riva stage one kit. It has the 2deg wedge and I have no VTS extension rod. I've been reading up a lot on this reverse bucket mod. With the trim all the way up it looks like my reverse bucket may be in the way. To anyone who has done it, is it worth it and did you notice any difference? Has anyone done a before and after gps test to verify any gains if so what were the gains? Thanks.

I did the mod when I was running that setup. Made no difference performance wise.

Why take the chance of that jet of water catching that bucket and blowing it off at say.....65mph?

Has that really happened to anyone because of not cutting the bucket? I don't think riva would sell a product that could cause damage to your ski and possible injury to the rider?

That was the primary reason a few people did the mod. When I ran the wedge without the extension I always had the highest speeds with the trim in the neutral position. So for me it was not a gain at all.

the nozzle needs to be clear of the reverse bucket. i have the r&d 2.5 wedge and i trimmed reverse bucket so nozzle will have a straight shot out the back

So it's more of a safety issue rather than performance/top speed increase?
