Ok Can I get some opinions please? Bad day
Well I was out today jumping some big arse waves from a cruise ship, and I totally submerged my ski...( Josh O1xDime was my witness ) Yeah it was fun to get the big couch totally under water!! Bad thing though I didnt realize after looking down at my glove box that my freaking GPS was GONE!! UGGGHHH!! yeah I know it floats but we were in the middle of the bay and I didnt notice it until we were way away from where it happened.
So needless to say I need to buy a used or a new Garmin GPSMap 76.
I did notice that the clip that holds the GPS in the glove box seems loose. And I think if it was as tight as it was when I first bought the ski, this may not have happened. Do you think I could go to the dealer and try to get them to replace my lid and the GPS since it IS under warranty? I know its a shot in hell but thought I may ask everyone's opinion.
On top of all that I drenched my damn cell phone and Its not working!!
Today was an expensive ride for me!!!

I havent lost my GPS yet, but I did notice that unless I was careful placing it into the holder, it wouldnt "lock" completely. Upon furthur investigation, I noticed that the GPS' lanyard might have been getting in the way of the latch closing completely.
Take a look at the 76C. Its got more memory. Folks' reviews say its easier to read as well.

Supposed to float but I could be there all week looking for it. By the time I realized it it was long gone. Even with it all the way locked down, it seemed too easy to pop out.
If I do have to buy one I will get the 76C...Just trying to avoid it though!

I do have a dry container and two dry bags but being in a rush when we left the dock bar, I had my phone with my wallet in a damn ziploc. I threw it in my glove box not even thinking. My dumbass fault...
What in the hell is JB welded on your glove box?

I smoothed out the JB weld then painted it with black mat enamel paint so it looks like it's part of the glove box.
If this thing comes off the glove box it's going to take some of the glove box with it.
Just scuff up the area with some 60grit.
If I did it again I'd use the bolt on the mount and have it go through the glove box but this thing isn't going to budge.

I cant imagine how much JB weld you must go thru. WOW. Do you buy it by the case or do you just have an automatic shipment that is ordered when your inventory shows low?
As much as you use it they should be giving it to you for free!!
Thanks for the advice though. I may stick with the glovebox lid and buy a new GPS if i really have to.
No one stated if they think I should hit the dealer up for this?? It was bc of a possible faulty ( or worn ) glove box lid. I would think it should hold longer than 2 months though.
