    GSX Rotary Timing

I've done a search on how to time a GSX rotary valve engine and haven't come across any definitive process on how to do it. The engine was torn apart when I started working on it, had I disassembled it I would have marked it first (hint to member on GH!!!). I have the degree wheel but need either a link showing the procedure or someone willing to walk me through it. The ski is a 1997 SeaDoo GSX 800. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Sam.

Sam, download the manual from this site. It's very easy, now that you have the degree wheel. I just don't remember the specs off the top of my head.

    tdc mag piston,
0 your degree wheel on the top of the mag intake port and mark 65deg around clock wise on the machined face,
0 your degree wheel to the bottom of the mag intake port and mark 147deg counter clockwise on the machined surface,
the with the rotary valve in your hand and making sure you havn't moved the crank, place the valve on the gear aligning as close as you can to your marks covering the pto port, you might have to flip the valve over to get your alignment and try getting the 65 deg mark the closest
