    there really isnt a good place to ask this so I'll ask here, i got some salt-away for my fzr (just the 1quart container) If i just want to put it on parts like the water box, supercharger assembly, etc can i just put it on a towel and wipe it down? thx

    You need to thin it down some, I mix some in a old windex bottle and pump spray it onto wherever I am cleaning up...

    I just use WD-40 and spray everything. Keeps the engine and everything in the hull clean, free from corrosion. I've never used Salt away so I really do not know how it would compare.

    Save the salt away for when your flushing...I use crc 6-56 for the whole engine compartment...

    well today i flushed with saltaway, it foamed right up and i let it run for 30 seconds likes it says to. Then i just hosed down the engine compartment (valve cover off) and then i wiped off any water and let it air dry.

    Hi Mazy,

    If you use the saltaway mixer attached to a garden hose the ration is 1:512.

    I used to flush my RXTX for 30 seconds with saltaway but now updated to an FZR and flush with fresh water for 3 minutes then do a 30 second saltaway flush with the mixer on a garden hose.

    If you want to use it in a spray bottle then;
    for heavy applications... salt exposed areas and recessed bolts use 20% saltaway mixture,
    5 to 10 % saltaway in a spray bottle is usually sufficient.

    I agree with others and use RP7 / CRC etc on the motor after I have sprayed the engine compartment with the saltaway flushing mixer.
    Cheers
