    Getting Frustrated!

I bought my 98 SLth (red 700) 4 months ago. Have been tinkering with it, mainly cosmetic. Took it out 5 weeks ago and it did not run right. When taking it out of the water, trailer was a little too far in so while I held front of ski to keep aligned, son was supposed to pull truck ahead a foot. Truck drifted a little, he panicked and hit the gas. Pulled trailer right out from under ski, and my finger got smached between front roller of trailer and ski. 26 stiches and a couple weeks later I pulled reed cages to discover a broken pedal. Replaced pedal, and today went to fire it up with a fully charged battery. Starter just "wirs", like bendix is not kicking in sometimes, and others I am getting just clicking from CDI.

Does this mean now the CDI is gone too? It is the one with 2 wires going to gorund on battery.

There's nothing in the cdi to click. Click should be comming from the starter solenoid. You sure the bat. cables are on correctly? If the starter turns backwards, it wont engage the bendix. Just a thought.

Short the large terminals together that are under the red boots, and see if it will turn the engine over.

The red arrow is pointing to the item that shoud be clicking. It's the starter soleniod. Check the volts on the yellow/red and black wires. You get 12 volts when pressing the start switch?

Check the volts on the soleniods yel/red and black while pressing the start sw. You may have bad ground. You should have seen a good spark.

2.4, and 13.1 at the battery. Also, I believe that is where the buzzing/clicking is coming from, not the box I initially said. Is that the solenoid?

    Yes that's the soleniod.
You have too big of a voltage drop. Bad connection somewhere. Check/ clean/ tighten battery cable connections on both ends. Then try to start it.

I have to leave for about 1/2 hour to drop son off at work. I will clean check all connections as soon as I get back and post findings. I really appreciate your time and efforts here!
