    Click below for the service manual, and other useful links.

    Check the battery voltage while the engine is cranking. Must be over 10.5 volts while cranking, or no spark.

    If battery is over 10.5 cranking volts, then clean both ends of both battery cables, and all red wires on the start solenoid.

    If still no spark, check voltage on Red/Purple wire that feeds into CDI ignition module, with the other meter probe on the Black wire into the CDI. Again, must be over 10.5 volts while cranking.

    If you have good voltage into the CDI, then look here;
    How do I test old and new domestic red engine CDI, Magneto and Ignition coils?

    My ohm-meter measurements don't exactly agree with the service manual specifications. Is this OK?
