    2000 Polaris 1200 genesis ficht troubles

    Need help,
    I'm trying to help out a friend and get his Polaris running. It will run but only to 3 or 4000 RPM. It has the check engine light on and says check engine. We replaced the TPS sensor (we you unplug the TPS the light goes out), new plugs and flue lines.

    He has another one that is a 1999. We put the MMS out of the 2000 in to the 1999 ski and it did the same thing light and check engine.

    Anybody have any ideas what to look at next?

    What models are these two Fuel Injected Polaris?

    When the 'good' EMM is installed in the problem ski, did the problem go away?

    Note: Don't run the ski long or hard with a mis-matched EMM installed. Just run it enough to confirm the engine is running properly, or what the symptoms are.

    Yes, both are Fuel Injected Polaris.

    I didn't put the good EMM in the bad running ski.

    Are both of them Genesis models?

    One a 1999 Genesis, the other a 2000 Genesis - correct?

    The 2000 Genesis is the one with the problem - correct?
    And putting the 2000 EMM in the 1999 Genesis caused the problem to occur there too - correct?

    It does sound like the EMM needs repair.

    The 1999 Genesis was the very first fuel injected model from Polaris, and the only 1999 model with fuel injection, so there are some differences with the later years.

    I put the EMM 99(good) in the 2000 ski no check engine or red light. I had sent the EMM back to the company that made them. They told us that it was good. There is no way it is!

    So know, do I need to buy it and injecters?

    Who did you send the bad EMM to?

    Do you ride in salt water?

    You might want to visually check all the connector pins on the EMM. Look for any signs of corrosion or moisture around the pins on the EMM itself.

    Yes, I ride in salt water.

    I have looked at the pins and they all look very clearn.
